Spotlighting the Mahabba focus of envisioning
An update for February from the Network
These regular updates are continuing to unpack the refreshed Mahabba vision and how it’s being worked out in practice across the Network. In case you missed it, last time we reflected on the Mahabba ethos and prayer. That’s the picture of the future we’re looking to, believing and working for.
Mahabba’s vision is to see ministry among people of Muslim heritage become a normal part of church life.
It is a relational network that exists to Encourage prayer, Envision the Christian community and Enable Christians to Engage with Muslims.
Mahabba exists to envision the Christian community – for churches to be a blessing to the nations on our ‘doorstep’; to see and seize the opportunities God has brought to our towns and cities.
It happens first through local Mahabba groups - raising awareness of the needs and encouraging Christians to pray and reach out. It’s happening in many ways – through inspiring stories of what God is doing; in helping churches to strategise and equip church members through courses and resources.
Let’s keep envisioning through vision-casting, telling the good news stories and making the opportunities known.
Envisioning is also happening through the Network’s ‘Promotion Circle’.
Drawing on the experience of the wider network, this working group serves the network - raising awareness of vision and values, events and resources, stories and fruitful practices, building relationally with church networks, organisations and agencies...
The group works on behalf of the entire Network communicating through literature, electronic media (website and social media), Christian media…
How can this ‘circle’ serve your needs and local vision?
New brochures are available – ‘Welcome to Mahabba’ and ‘Thinking of starting a Mahabba Group?’
Digital copies can be downloaded at https://www.mahabbanetwork.com/resources-1
Paper copies can be requested from the Hub. Coming soon will be leaflets specifically for churches and Network friends
Events and training courses can also be made known, and pull-up displays are available for events.
How can you spread the word?
Could you gather people from local church leaderships and mission teams for a vision raising meeting? Speakers can be made available to share at any such events
Who are you already connected to - a church network, prayer network, influencers, student / millennial groups?
Do you have experience in promotional work that would benefit the wider Network? Could you be an ambassador for Mahabba, locally or in your region?
Please contact us to discuss any of these possibilities.
For God’s glory in all of our Muslim communities.
