The *TOP 7* Courses
for Christians to get started with sharing their faith with Muslims
Here we have collated the top seven courses available to Christians in the UK who want to learn how to love and engage well with their Muslim neighbours, friends and neighbours.
1.Friendship FirsT
The Friendship First Course is a four-session video-based course with a varied mix of experienced speakers and personal stories, supported by learning activities and group discussion. Ideal for smaller groups meeting in person, it can also be adapted for larger groups and/or meeting online.
It aims to help Christians to build unconditional friendships with Muslim neighbours and colleagues.
2. Joining the Family
Joining the Family is an initiative to help Churches in the West to understand, love, equip and learn from Christ’s followers of Muslim heritage (BMBs).
3. Encountering Muslims
Encountering Muslims is an introductory 12-session course that has greater breadth and depth than some others. The course enables participants to learn about Muslims, how to reach them and inspires prayer for the Muslim world.
4. Muslim Engagement Training
Muslim Engagement Training (MET) is a short course to equip Christians to love their Muslim neighbours and friends by sharing the message of Jesus with them. In person in the London area.
5. When Women Speak
A network offering a free online course, twice a year, for Christians engaging with communities of women who follow Islam. Asking questions that women ask, and exploring topics important to the way that women negotiate their faith, we home in on how the Good News speaks to women and how we might share this.
6. Engaging Islam Today
This short course is for any Christian who wants to learn more about Islam, and how to better relate to Muslim friends and share the love of Christ with them. One week, in person, at All Nations Christian College.
7. Understanding our Muslim Neighbours
From time to time, the Manchester Evening Bible School runs a beginners’ class for people who want to start learning about Islam to understand their Muslim neighbours. This five-session course may run on Zoom or in person.
In addition, there are several providers of resources that provide training for those who wish to use them. These include:
Come Follow Me - a programme for discipling new believers
Al Massira - a video-based chronological presentation of the Gospel
Prophet Stories - an approach to dialogue groups drawing on the prophets
